The foundations of The World Tree
Midgard is where children develop the skills that support every future journey. Reading, language, vocabulary, and communication form the roots from which deeper understanding grows.
Reading and literacy in Midgard
Midgard, the Realm of Humans, is where every child begins their journey through Kvasi. It is a world filled with stories, characters, adventures, and discoveries, designed to help children develop the foundations of reading while exploring a world that feels engaging and meaningful.
As children progress through Midgard, they build literacy skills step by step, developing phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and confidence. Rather than learning in isolation, reading is woven into stories, quests, conversations, and exploration, helping children connect words with meaning and purpose.
The journey adapts to each learner. Children encounter the right level of challenge and support for their stage of development, allowing them to build strong foundations while progressing at a pace that feels achievable and rewarding.
Our goal is not simply to teach children how to read, but to help them discover why reading matters. Through stories, knowledge, and exploration, Midgard helps children develop the understanding, curiosity, and confidence that can support a lifelong love of learning.
Reading through stories and exploration
Set within the Realm of Humans, Midgard helps children progress from sounds and words to sentences and stories through meaningful adventures woven into the world around them.
